Scrunchie Artwork Story:
Brenda interprets the stony Miriwoong Country and the river flats along the Dunham River. "This is stony country. The river flats are full of coloured stones. We call them 'Gerany'. I learn to paint this Country from my mother."

Artist Bio:
"I was born in Kununurra. I now have five children. I watch the old people painting - that's how I got started. It teaches me about Country. I am ready to take over the stories of my mother. I learnt from her to tell her stories and pass them on to my children and grandchildren."
Brenda is a dedicated artist and her arts practice includes ochre painting and textiles. She has worked at the art centre as a Miriwoong Tour Guide and has been a Director on the Waringarri Arts' Board.
