Maureen has depicted a family travelling through Spinifex country, camping, going hunting and collecting bush foods. She has drawn focus to the Para trees that are prevalent throughout her mothers country. These are also known as Marble Gums that grow on and between the sand dunes of the Great Victoria Desert. They were often used to make wooden tooling and water holding vessels called wira.
