Sophia has depicted Spinifex country after rain when all the small rock holes appear with water in them. Water is the life giving, all affirming limited resource that had to be constantly monitored within the arid desert regions. Water sources are still said to be guarded by powerful unseen beings and certain protocol and ritual must be followed before entering some sites.
