A5 Journal Purple: Side Profile Bat by Campbell Whyte - WA Museum Exclusive
High quality hardback journal made in the UK containing approximately 96 pages of 100gsm cream lined paper. Finished with square corners and ribbon marker and printed with one of the Bat Family Portraits by Campbell Whyte.
Campbell Whyte was born in Perth, Western Australia and has lived there for most of his life. He works using a mixture of traditional media such as inks and watercolour which are then combined with digital elements. Campbell has been awarded a DCA Regional Arts WA: Young People and the Arts Fellowship, a DCA Development Grant, an Australia Council JUMP Mentorship and several Australia Council Development Grants.
The bat illustrations were completed with the help and assistance of the Terrestrial Zoology Curator, Kenny Travouillon and the collection of bats held at the Western Australian Museum. These tiny wonders of the animal kingdom are an example of the incredible diversity of life on Earth and the amazing adaptability of mammals.
“We wanted the bat illustrations to look like family portraits, showcasing the unique character of each species. We hope that people will see these bats not as scary beasts, but as creatures deserving of our respect and admiration.” Campbell Whyte
