Story:

This is James fathers (Yala Yala Gibbs Tjungurrayi) country , just west of Kintore. This Tingarri story tells the story of the ancestors travelling North from Tjukurla. James describes the tracks made by the men as they headed east to find the water at the rockholes in the sandhill country there.

Artist Biogrpahy:

James Gibson was born in Papunya and then moved to Kintore, Kiwirrkurua and then onto Tjukurla. His father, Yala Yala Gibbs Tjungurrayi, was a founding member of Papunya Tula Artists. His mother Yinarupa Nangala became a leading painter for Papunya Tula Artists in later years. He lives in Tjukurla with his wife and children.
