Cranes are large, graceful birds known for their long legs, elegant flight, and elaborate courtship dances. They symbolize longevity and peace in many cultures, especially in East Asia.

In one of the accessory pits near the Terracotta Warriors, archaeologists discovered six life-sized bronze cranes—part of a royal garden scene created to entertain Emperor Qin Shi Huang in the afterlife
